I took this photo at the Cousin Island Beach. I used a shallow depth of field to bring more focus to the foreground. I wanted to bring the focus there because of all the interesting detailed textures. I shot this photo from a lower angle so that I could achieve a interesting perspective which makes this ordinary subject much more interesting to look at.

Giving Thanks

I wanted to communicate something simple that people are thankful for and that can easily be taken for granted. Shelter is something everyone needs and we often forget how lucky we are to have it. I took these pictures of a run down shack I saw on the side of the road. I thought that by photographing a less fortunate form of shelter would make someone stop and think about how lucky they are to have a warm home.
